Compressed Mode

Hi all,

While in in 3g network, ms measures 2g signal only in compressed mode.

How can ms or the system create idle periods for ms to measure 2g
signal? What are the advantades & disadvantages of these methods? Does
it make any differance between the idle and actıve modes of ms?

What is 'ms'? It could be any of the following - - -
Mass Storage, Master of Science (degree), Mass Spectrometer,
Millisecond, Magnetic Storage, Memory Stick, Mobile Station,
Media Server, Monitoring System, Mobile Subscriber,
Multi-Spectral, Message Store, Measurement Signal,
and a couple of hundred more.
