Not true. The Samsung I330, and the Handspring Treo both have IR ports.
Now, whether those ports can be used for modem? That I don't know.

Maybe I misunderstood John's post, but I wouldn't say none of the Sprint
phones have IR capabilities. The i-500 I ordered listed the following
as a spec on the SPCS website:

Palm OS 4.1 Stylish, slim, clamshell Palm Powered PCS Vision Phone with
16 MB of memory (RAM), 66 MHz Dragonball processor, and IR port.

If you watch the flash demo on the i-500 page, they even demonstrate
it's use. If this is untrue it's not much of a PALM.

It has the IR port, but John was talking (I think) about using the IR port
as the "connection" to enable using the phone as a modem.

Right. I was trying to do exactly this over the weekend, use the IR port on
my SPH-i300 as the connection between the palmphone and my laptop to
hopefully obtain internet access for my laptop. I couldn't find a way to
    make it work though.

Anyone successfully get this or a similar configuration to function? FWIW
the laptop I'm using is running WinXP.

    Thanks,

Yes, I know. I carry an i300, which also has an IR port..

However, using a PalmPhone to IR to another Palm is a little absurd,
    doncha think?

Besides, I tried with the i300 to feed data to another Palm; no joy.

I prefer to recommend only things that work.
