Hi, all,
I love the new Sanyo SCP-6400: Great rf, good battery life, and oh so
thin.
The thing is, has anybody figured out how to set the default phone
number for a phone book entry for which you have entered multiple
numbers?
For example, if you enter a Home and Work number for Joe Blow, the
default number will be Home in every case, requiring you to enter the
phone book and select the work phone number if you want to call him
there. If you want the Work phone number to be his default, you are out
of luck.
Alone and with Cust Support, I've tried:
* Erasing and reentering numbers
* Creating new entries, and entering the preferred number first
* Every conceivable variation on saving a number
No matter what, the first number in the list is the default. There is
even a small bug: If you erase the Home number, the next number in the
list (Work) will become the default. When you reenter the Home number,
the first time you look at the phone book entry, it shows a W next to
that name, making you believe you succeeded. But the next time you enter
the phone book, the name has a H next to it.
Help! Thanks in advance.

I think all the Sanyo phones are like that. But I guess you've figured
out that if you hit the right side of the navigation key you can scroll
through the numbers pretty quickly. - sheureka

When you enter a new record (person), can't you just put the work
number in the H slot and the home number in the W slot?

I have a 4900 and that was driving me nuts...what I did was program
speed dial #'s for the people I called the most. on my phone there are
only 10 (or less, I forget to be honest) speed dial locations, so I
saved them for the people I called most frequently
i.e. if I have joe blow's home, cell and work #, and I usualkly call
him on his cell, then I would program his cell # in a speed dial
location
not exactly what you're looking for, but in my case it was a reasonable
workaround
hope this helps...

Re: Sanyo 6400-Phone Book Default Phone Numbers?????
Some phones have 10 speed dials and ten voice dials, which for
personal use could be enough. For business use, Voice Command would be
better.

OK, you were right, but it took another month to figure out what you meant.
Slowed down my Starbucks intake due to summer heat, all brain functions
suffered.
The trick is, when a name is highlighted in the phone directory, pressing
the right arrow button scrolls through the different phone numbers for that
name, in the (unchangable) order they are entered: H, W, M, etc.
Just got my first bill since dropping some land lines. I need to up my plan
to 2500 minutes...
