Which PC card is best for data service?

Have Sony Vaios and (mostly) IBM ThinkPads. Which of the PC card devices
offered by Sprint is best?

Novatel Wireless Merlin C201 $179.99

Sierra Wireless AirCard 550 $299.99

AirPrime PC 3200 $199.99

Personally I have only tried the Novatel Merlin C201 and Aircard 550 and
noticed no difference. We sell many more Merlin C201 cards than any
other brand.

We do however recommend the Aircard 550 if you're using it in a camper
or truck so you have the option of using an extrnal, roof mounted
antenna.

I just bought the AirPrime from Larry and have to say that it worked great
this past week in Corolla, NC. There where a couple of times that I would
get that the distant end was not responding when I tried to connect, but it
would work fine on the next attempt.

Larry is also a great guy to buy from.

Whatever has happened to that CF card (that could also -- using an
adapter -- double as a regular PC card)? Since I use a Pocket PC a lot,
that would be better for me should I ever go the card route -- I could
use it in the Pocket PC *or* the laptop.

I remember seeing it discussed here many months ago, but not recently,
and I've wondered if the card is at the same level as the Merlin and
Aircard.

I tried one for two weeks..the CF-2031. Its a CF slot device and worked
pretty good in my Casio E-115 PDA. The reason I brought it back for a refund
was that it just didnt work INSIDE buildings or my office in downtown Los
Angeles worth a damn

It's called the Yiso CF2031. It's under the connection card section in
"Shop for phones" at sprintpcs.com

Eddie, did you try a Merlin or Aircard in the same buildings? Sprint
signals often don't get inside buildings *period*, so I'm wondering if
it was the card or the signal.

Maybe it's because "Yiso" CF doesn't have the quality of the PC-card
manufacturers. Maybe Novatel, Sierra, etc. might bring out a CF card...
