    More clarity. I would also like to, maybe hook up my laptop to the web
    while at school, but I'm not sure if that's leaglly possible. I'm not
    exactly sure how vision works either so....Some advice would be great.

    I think you would do well with several models. The a500 people have a
    love/hate attitude. A lot of people really like the Sanyo line. The
    Samsung VGA1000 (SPH-A620) is a little out of that price range but it is
    getting some good reviews.

    If I had to buy a new phone tomorrow, I'd pay the extra money and get the
    i500 but that is double your price range.

    You can get vision plans for under $60 per month so you can hook up your
    laptop.
