Hi. I am charged taxes every month for cities I do not live in anymore.
They charge me taxes for my current city and the previous two cities I have
lived with Sprint PCS service. I have to view my bill online and click the
link to contact them regarding the bill. Well, I guess they don't maintain
their internal servers any better than their external ones... just a joke,
but that was funny . Here is what I receive from Sprint PCS:

Wow, that is odd, taxed from 3 cities... How many lines are on your
account? I could see that if you have 3 lines, each line still might be
under the tax authority of each city (and it'll blow my theory out of
the water if you have one ;-) ).

I'd say call customer solutions (ugh) and have them check where the
    phone tax authority is.

Another question, is your phone number base din the city you're in now,
or a previous one? (Thay also may cause this issue)?

I just checked my bill, and I'm being double taxed too (I moved a few
months ago). Thank god its only $1.40 a month, not a huge amount.

(Heh, and you think you have a hard time with customer solutions? Try
dealing with employee aco****s! They're WORSE!!!)

I have two phones with two differnet area codes for two different
cities. Both phones are taxed at the rate of the city I signed up
    in.

I suppose a New Yorker with really high taxes could drive to
Punkin Center, Texas (yes, that's a real place, like Turkey, Texas),
where they have low taxes (just enough to pay for repainting the
only stop sign every few years) and ask for a New York number. Which
    is basically what I did.

So, you're living in TX now? Right now, I'm being billed for the sales
tax in my previous state (which I do not live in anymore). I should not
be billed for that, even if I still have a number from there...

I'll find out what employee accounts has to say either tomorrow or
    Friday.

This is a known issue with Sprint. I was billed for taxes in a city I no
longer reside for years after I changed my address. The only reason I
didn't complain loudly enough is that I am afraid Sprint could mess it up
even worse, aka, bill two taxes on one line.

Also, where did Sprint get so many non-English speaking customer service
person? I believe they probably write better code, but they may not be
    suitable for customer service positions.

No, have always lived in Texas. I activated two phones in Abilene - one
with an Abilene number and the other with a Dallas number. Both are
taxed by the city of Abilene.

Sounds like a perfectly valid reason to call Executive Services.

They got them from India ... and they are still there. Calls are routed
there routinely now. They are being trained to cover up their accent so
that their customers don't get pissed off and hang up or demand a US Citizen
to answer a question about their US phone service.

Strange, the same people who whine and ***** about Sprint attempting to
recoup its WLNP costs from customers are also the ones whining about not
being able to speak to some ridiculously over-paid American workers who get
demand far more for their labour than their quality of service is worth.

If you want cheaper service ..... this is what you will get. The company is
merely trying to lower its costs by outsourcing its customer service to more
reasonably priced venues. Get over your xenophobia and face the economic
reality - american labor just ain't globally competitive.

It doesn't have to be globaly competitive. These are American phone
services, sold to Americans, based in America and paid in American dollars
to Americans ... unless the company hires offshore call centers who don't
speak good American ... Hmm nice litany.

Keep on dreaming mate. What happened when the American manufacturing
industry wasn't globally competitive back in the 70's ? We ended up with a
"Made in China" label on pretty much everything.

I don't see you complaining about the fact that your 'American phone
company' doesn't provide you with a single phone that says 'Made in the
    U.S.A' ?

So swallow your pride and face the facts - it's a global marketplace. Price
    is the only consideration.

    -Bum

ps. "don't speak good American" ? Yeah, real good one there. It's the
proficiency in the language that matters - not some silly accent or slang.
As far as i know they don't speak Hindi or Sanskrit to Sprint's customers.
But then I'm Indian (and stupid) and am prolly mistaking our primitive
vernacular for fluent English .... right ?

Back to the email being bounced, I noticed that you posted from
charter.net. My grandparents in Wisconsin use Charter for their cable
internet service. I cannot send them any email, and they cannot send me
any email using my @sprintpcs.com email address. Even if I use
Earthlink's (my DSL provider) SMTP server and send an email using my
@Sprintpcs.com email address, it gets bounced back to me.

That's not the only thing wrong with charter.com. When I receive messages to
my myway.com account, everyone with a charter.com address has their messages
ported into the bulk mail folder. What's up with that?
