I'm very disappointed in Sprint's online coverage maps as well as the
maps on their brochures at the retail locations. The online National map
is so small you can barely see it and the colors suck. The local maps
such as the ones in California have not been updated since January (or
possibly longer) even though they have expanded coverage in some key
areas (which are still showing as roaming or future coverage). In
additon some areas are still showing as additonal PCS service (meaning
no Vision access) when in fact they have already been upgraded to
Vision. In the old days they would updated their maps at least 4 times a
year and the maps were much better, larger, and easier to see. They are
doing themselves an injustice by not showing the new coverage. I know
they can do much better than this.

And a disservice by not showing where coverage no longer exists.

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
Agreed...sprint really needs a better mapping system. I'd be perfectly
content with a full screen jpeg of the country at this point. Right
now the national map is some scaled down, overaliased image with no
resolution.
Looking at regional coverage is also a pain.

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
It would be so easy to make better maps. I just can't understand why
they keep those horrible maps month after month. Maybe we all should
start sending in complaints to Executive services about it.

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
Do you think it could extra profit?
These maps usually exaggerate coverage areas, right.? This would
probably produce more customers, some of which will drop off and get
their $ back, if they ***** loud enough, the rest will stay customers;
in the non cellular world this would be fraud, but since the maps all
have disclaimers, so ??

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
Maybe accurate maps aren't needed.
I'd be surprised if many of the loudest complainers could even locate =
themselves on a map.

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
Larry, I have noticed updated coverage in my neck of the woods. Sprint
added coverage to the Lake Okoboji resort area in northwestern Iowa in
the last few weeks. It is a pretty large area and many people do have
timeshares up there. What I want to know is if Sprint added the towers
or if an affliate, perhaps Swiftel, added the towers. Does anyone
know? I know that you, Larry, know when towers have been added.
Anything added in Iowa in the last few weeks? Thanks

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
I doubt its for profit ... sprint has a pretty big footprint for voice
and 1xRTT services, nothing to be ashamed of.
They used to have detailed online maps, but now we are stuck with their
second rate system now.

Well, at least Verizon could give that bug-eyed guy a coloring book and a
set of crayons and let him update theirs when he's out in the field.

I certianly can. In fact, I have two pictures, one from Yahoo maps and one
from Sprint's map. Same size and area. Just in case someone wanted to see
how far IN the green area I was.

Sorry but I only know about So. Cal towers. Iowa is not something I
could find out about.

Re: When, oh when, will Sprint update/improve their coverage maps?
-Update-
The new coverage map brochures are finally out. I picked up the new
Southern California map at the Sprint store today and coverage is now
showing along the I-5 through Camp Pendleton. But the maps are still the
same old size and color which are hard to see.
The web site still has not been updated with new maps yet.

Virgin Mobile (http://www.virginmobileusa.com/) maps seem to be a little
larger, and they are run on Sprint PCS's network.
Hmm, maybe I can pass something up for people to be able to get larger
maps, possibly a downloadable JPG?

Yeah if you know a way to to request better online maps please do it.
Just look at T-Mobiles online maps and you can see the difference.
Sprint's really suck.
