It's not obvious why you would agree. Yes the little drones are pushy
as all hell because that's their script but Voice Command is totally
useless if you can even get it to work. It's pretty obvious that
Sprint is going to charge you after the 2 months, why else would they
be so irritating about insisting you add the feature? $$$

This is yet another reason why their customer service sucks.

Their Customer Service is just there to sell stuff, thats why its so
abysmal, its #1 goal is not service, its to complete calls, and sell
    stuff.

Did you go by bars on the phone? If so, then the signal diference might not
even be different. The only wa to really see is to get a DB reading. Plus
you stated that your phones with sprint are 3 years old. If you were getting
drpooed calls, Maybe your phone's were really outdated. Who knows. In a lot
of area's Sprint towers will be in the same place as a Verizon tower. Some
towers have many providers on them. You ever see them towers with 4 or 5
rows of pannels, or see 2 or 3 on two towers next to eachothers? You could
be getting the same signal strength right now and not even know it. It is
just like how mt Sanyo 8100 almost always says I have a Full signal. When My
A500 would say that I have 2 bars. With my 8100, when the signal is real
weak then the bars go down. Now, my 8100 does work where the a500 doesn't.
My friend moved to CA, and in his room he had a A460. It would drop a call
after 1 or 2 minutes in his room. He upgraded to the 8100, and I talked to
him for 3 hours in the same room, and it didn't drop the call. He even wa
laying on his bed where the a460 would gointo Analog roam. He said that his
8100 hasn't gone into roaming once since he got it. (He has a F&C AM plan)
So the phone definatly effects weather or not you get good results.Me, I
have a killer plan, and very good service with my 8100. I am not going
    anywhere soon.

    --
    My Plan: $85 2000 A/t, 3000 N&w 8-9pm, unlimited N&W for $10, Unlimited
PCS2PCS, Unlimited Vision, Off network option with 50% mins can be used for
roaming($10 one from March. Gonna call and see if they can replace it with
    the new $5 option), 2 add-a-phone's ($20 for third), and a 15% discount from
where I work. Total with taxes is $139.45. Divide that by 3, and I am only
    paying $46.48 each phone.

Well thats $46.49 for 666 A/T minutes. Which is a ripoff.

    Re: Scam

I base my statement on the fact that the phone would frequently enter
the analog roaming mode. It did that even when it was new and that
model is still offered by Sprint. My Verizon phone shows 5 bars and
people I call tell me that quality of the call is better. As I said
in another post, I understand there are places where a company may
have a dead spot and another may not at the same location. There are
places that I have visited where I was told it was unlikely that I
would get a signal and my Sprint phone worked. It depends where you
are relative to the towers. It's just that the primary use of my
phone is to make cross country calls from home. Another thing is that
I use it for a phone, not a PDA. I'm not interested in paying a high
price to get all the frills that some people like. I'm not likely to
upgrade frequently to get a bunch of doodads I don't need. I'll
upgrade when the battery won't hold a charge. Batteries costs
approach the price of a new phone. Neither am I afraid of new
technology. I bought my first home computer in 1976 as a kit that had
to be soldered and assembled. I bought one of the earliest IBM PC's
and I had one of the first Mac's. I will probably get a 64 bit PC
within the next few months and I've probably had a dozen machines in
    between.

    I have 2 phones for 51.99 + taxes. That's only $26 per phone + taxes.
I don't use one quarter of the minutes available in my plan.

I can agree with that,if you also apply it to the myriad of other
businesses/services which try to sell you additional services.
I get offers from comcast every month with my bill imploring me to
upgrade my cable service. Phone company never ceases to inform me of
every latest feature and service they would like me to subscribe to.
Hell, the computer I'm typing on is 6 years old,and I still get letters
from IBM wondering when I'm ever going to buy a new one (actually,I
already have, but not from IBM though).
They are in a hyper competitive market, and if they are not aggressive
with their marketing, they will sink - Pure and simple.
Everyone has their own experiences with the companies that they deal with.
My dealings with sprint happen to be pleasant, and to date I have no gripes.
My daughter lost her phone a couple months back, and I had that one
deactivated, and had a spare reactivated in about 10 minutes.
I think thats pretty damn good service.
    So whats your gripe ?
Are you just saying that,in general, sprint sucks ?
Or did you get screwed ?
In either case, then why are you still with them ?
