I'm wondering what CDMA phone will replace the SPH-i500 and when it will be
available. I know the SGH-i500 is closer to what I'm looking for but it is
not a CDMA phone. I love the SPH-i500 but wish it had just a few features
not on it. I really like the small size of the SPH-i500 and think it could
be made to have the next few features without increasing the size
dramatically. I know that RAVE has mentioned his group testing the
successor but not much info other than it having a 1 MP camera. I'm hoping
that they make a version with and without the camera.

I would like a polyphonic ringer so I can play wav/qcp files instead of just
midi files. On my much older lg5350, I can have it say the name of the
caller so I don't even have to look at the phone to know who is calling.

I would like it to have an external display so I can see who is calling
    without opening it.

I would like it to have a stronger vibration notify.

Not as important but I would love it if it could dial by number. e.g. "dial
    310.555.12.."

I know a lot of people would like an SD slot - I don't really care about
that but understand why some people would like it. I'll probably never use
    it to browse the web.

I can understand why some people would like the camera built in. I would
say for most of the people wanting that feature, the novelty runs out pretty
quick and now you've paid for something that makes your phone bigger. But I
would like it if they considered two version of the next one, one with the
    camera and one without.

    I would like to

Does the I500 *not* have "Digit Dialing" capabilities? My A500 does.

Increased memory is primarily used for Palm applications, not browsing.

    Nope. Built into the phone...

If I hold the Talk button, I'm presented with a menu, with one
of the choices being "Digit Dial."

Using that command, I can "speak" the digits that I want dialed.
