Best Email program for Treo 600

I ordered my Treo 600 this morning and expect it to arrive tomorrow.
I am wondering what email programs will work and what are the relative
tradeoffs. Handspring lists the email packages as listed in this http
site.

Can anyone give a review of cost/value. Technical tradeoffs, etc.

I use snappermail now (snappermail.com) on my Clie PDA connected to my
LG5350
Fantastic Program
Reads attachments - can retrieve email from multiple POP 3 accounts

AND a nice feature for the Treo 600........ you can set the program to
automatically retrieve your email at any time interval you set - it will
beep to let you know email has arrived

SnapperMail is probably the best Palm e-mail client out there. It has
all the best features. But if you don't feel like spending around $40
for it, Eudora is a decent no-frills client that's free. I've been
using it since June and I'm satisfied with it.

I have been using Eudora as well on Treo 300. Has anyone figured at
how to configure a laptop to send using sprint address? I can download
the messages into Outlook, but have not been able to send from the pc.
Any ideas?

You need to make sure you configure the smtp server to require authenticati=
on=20
also. At least, that's what got OE working for me. I use Outlook 2000 at=
=20
home, and you'd find this option under TOOLS/SERVICES/(mail service in=20
question)/SERVERS/OUTGOING MAIL SERVER. There's a checkbox there that must=
be=20
checked. If you click on the "Settings" box there, you just make sure it's=
set=20
to "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server."

Like I said, I used the equivalent under OE and that got working for me.

Would you please tell mw what the =20 means. I see it on your posts have
have no idea what it is.
By the way I down loaded the Visto Express email 30 day test from the
Handspring web site and not only does it work well but it'd easy to
install and use.
Since you seem to be somewhat of an expert would you know how I would
insert a pause in a phone number, either hard or timed. In older
versions of the Palm OS it would be either a "p" or a "w", this is what
is used on the Samsung 500. I can't find what to use on the Treo 600,
it's not in the manual and even level 2 techs cannot find a way to put
in a pause. I am not talking about the ability to put in Extra Digits in
the Speed dial buttons. I want to insert pauses for international
dialing where I need three hard pauses or for voice mail where I need
one after I dial into my voice mail account another for an extension
number and then one more for the password.

So it sounds like Eudora or Snappermail are the two top candidates
depending on how much $$ I want to shell out. Follow up questions:
1) Does Eudora come bundled on the Treo 600 (like it did with my
Kyocera 6035?)
2) How about MP3 packages. Any recommendations on that area?

I use the "Gravity" newsreader to access alt.cellular.sprintpcs directly fr=

Usenet. Something about the way this newsreader does line-breaks doesn't a=

I haven't had a chance to check out a Treo 600 yet. If I can get a hold of=

Eudora doesn't come with the Treo 600 but it is free for download at
www.eudora.com.

Pocket Tunes is supposed to be a good mp3 player. I haven't tried it
yet since I haven't gotten Treo 600 yet. You can register through a
link on the Treo's software CD to get it for free.
