    Finally located the very rare brochure on F&CA, the coverage map
    appears to cover about 98% if the continental us plus AK, and HI, plus
    PR, the only vacant areas are in the extreme west.

    quote from the old brochure: your calling minutes wherever you are in
    PCS FREEE & Clear America. This expanded coverage area, reaching More
    than 280 million people, allows you to make or receive calls throughout
    the country, with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR ROAMING OR LONG DISTANCE"

    Fine print says N&W are covered, but also mentions MAY TERMINATE SERVICE
    IF MAJORITY OF MINUTES IN GIVEN MONTH ARE USED WHILE ROAMIN GOFF THE
    SPRINT NATIONWIDE PCS NETWORK"

    This was what the original brochure indicates, but, a good question
    remains, is this still the policy?

    There is a specific article about this on our Intranet. roaming minutes ma=
    y=20
    exceed that 50% barrier once within a three month period, and our policy is=
    NOT=20
    to cancel it. However, if it happens regularly even then, then we reserve =
    the=20
    right to cancel. If you exceed once, you get a reminder from us about the=
    =20
    terms of F&CA. If it doesn't happen again, or not regularly, then no probl=

    Would you think this is to keep a customers who maybe lives, etc outside
    the native sprint coverage, from having virtually 100% of usage outside
    the system of a month in month out basis--for the relatively low price,
    seems reasonable.

    But say monthly allowance was 500 anytime--and you roamed 300 minutes,
    which was over; but if you then used another 500 minutes on N&W all non
    roam, would this make the ratio okay???

    You lost me, but I think you're asking how this limit is calculated. If so=
    ,=20
    then its based on total minutes, period. If you used 300 AT minutes, and 1=
    700=20
    N&W minutes, then you used 2000 minutes, and you can have up to that many=
    =20
    roaming minutes in that month (since they would add up to no more than 50% =
    of=20
    your total usage that month).

    If I understand your question, then yes, that ratio is OK. I see a total o=
    f=20
    1300 minutes, only 500 of which were roaming. Less than 50%.

    This rate plan is designed to go head to head with Verizon and AT&T with
    their National Single Rate and One Rate plans, these are both big
    concerns of Business people.(traditionally low churn and high revenue).
    The reason for the limitation on roaming is that roaming still costs the
    carrier money (and a lot of money) per minute. At the rate plan
    described Sprint could not make money if the majority of minutes were
    done as roaming, hence the limitation.

    That depends on the Monkeys who count dollars at Sprint.

    Re: F&CA America Add On plan

    I apologize for my poorly worded question.( it may be due to the inane
    policies and answers from some c/s reps (not you))

    I assume this 50% rule was placed in (like the vision modem provision)
    in order to prevent substantial abuse of roaming.

    Since (the 50% rule) is in the mice sized print, I was trying to get a
    clear understanding of it. (There was a big discussion a couple of weeks
    ago about how verizon defined nights and week
    ends.)(alt.cellular.verizon) How hard can this be to understand, but go
    read the definition on Verizons home page.

    Your reply of "total minutes" seems to answer my question, but to
    reiterate. If a customer should realize that he may be substantially
    over the 50% roaming limit based on total minutes, then this could be
    off-set by just making enough N&W (non-roam) calls to decrease the roam
    % to under 50% prior to end of the billing period--right ( I still
    can't ask this question right) If this is true, it would seem this would
    just encourage wasted N&W usage to beat the system, but whatever.

    Again I apologize for these seemingly stupid questions, but I am sure
    that even you have ask a question about some policy to a c/s person
    without common sense, and have them make you feel stupid for asking, and
    then not help you with the extra charges because of it.

    Also, it is not unusual (per other posts) to get contradictory info from
    back to back calls to c/s. And as in another posters statements the"
    bean counting monkeys" are not always predictable.

    Although I am quite happy with sprint (and also veriizon) I have learned
    to ask, ask, and verify, verify)

    Thanks again for your helpful info.

    I don't know if it was poorly worded. But thanks for the thought.

    Something like that, probably. We'd also like SPCS customers to actually b=

    SPCS *users*, know what I mean?

    Maybe, but we don't put time limits on calls anyway. If you wanted to list=
