Hmmm, just got some conflicting info on the $5 option from SPCS. Just
to recap my current plan, I'm on the $85/mo. - 2000 min plan, with 2
add a phones, and the $10 F&CA option on the account that I added
earlier this year. I Called in on their 888 #, and requested the
billing dept. Seems like SPCS has a problem with their authentication
database, as it asked for the last 4 numbers on my SSN, which I
entered, and said that it didn't match with my account. In any event,
the call did connect to the billing dept. and spoke to Glen, to get my
F&CA option cost reduced from $10 to $5.

Glen said that the $5 F&CA option is only available on the newer plans
just released in the 4th quarter this year, and not available for
older plans. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and after a couple of
minutes on hold, Mathew - P03MROBIN45, confirmed Glen's prior
    comments.

So I wait, and call again in 20 minutes, this time to the customer
service dept, with no request for the last 4 numbers of the SSN, and
speak with Dante. She does some checking, and finds out I can make the
change, and does it for me ... Also offers yours truly the 5% discount
with a new annual agreement, which I declined, as I suspect some new
pricing to be available later. My current AA doesn't expire until
12-2, so I've got some time

Seems like one department, the billing dept people specifically, needs
to get a new memo ... and to get their authentication software
    corrected as well.

    Bob

PS: I'm sending a copy of this to SPCS just to let them know what
    happened ...

Have you had issues in the past with changing plans? Mine did not go
so well. It was my understanding that the phones were coded wrong
during the plan switch and they were planning on charging extra for my
two addon phones for Vision, P2P, and somehow F&CA was now "not
available" on the addon's. One CSR actually told me F&CA could be
available on all 3 phones in my plan for $10 more each phone. A call
back to a different person and the issue was finally resolved. Of
course they took off the $17.50 roaming and adjusted my current bill
and I paid the new reduced amount. But... my next bill had a previous
balance of $17.50 and it is back on there now.

In changing plans, no ... not at all. In putting on option on a
current plan ... yes. When I first added F&CA to my account, I only
put it on my daughter's phone. Then I called back a few weeks later
and asked them to put in one my whole account. The rep forgot to add
the proper codes to the other phones on my account. After noticing
roaming charges, I called up and got it fixed post haste.

Strictly speaking, I think they're both correct. The $5 option was meant t=
    o go=20
on the new plans. But it *can* be placed on older ones. Since I haven't h=

the opportunity to try, I can't say for certain, but yours wouldn't be the=

    the same customer.

    I work for SprintPCS
    I *don't* speak for them.

    Hey Bob,

I have been through the same thing on the last 4 digits of your SSN. Even
if I enter it correctly, it will say that it doesn't match. You have to
enter it one more time and it will go through... It works the second time,
    every time!

Thanks John, but I did that as well. Two times I entered the numbers
and twice it said it didn't match my account ...

Try the last 4 digits of your phone number.

This is a moot point as I was able to get to the right department and
get the situation corrected. In saying that though, the voice prompt,
prior to getting into the billing dept., asked for the last 4 numbers
    of the SSN ...
