Same here. Pisses me off. I'm generally happy with my service, but
a lot of that is because I avoid stuff like this and I don't have to deal
extensively with CS.

Hmm it told me I haven't been with them 18 months,when in fact its been

It seems that all of us who posted about the "ineligible" message
paid attention to the above, but not to the page, and we misinterpreted the
first condition. It means your actual phone, the instrument, not the
account. The exact message is:

"Our records indicate the PCS Phone associated with this PCS Phone Number
is less than 18 months old"

In my case that is surely true. My two 4900's are less than a year
old.

I went there and here is something I noticed. it didn't say you were a
customer for X years, it said the PCS number was not associated with the
phone for more that 18 months. So if you have had a warranty
replacement within 18 months you are discriminated against.

It is the PHONE that must be more than 18 month old, NOT your service.

Except for my original 6185 I don't think I have kept any phone for the 18
month minimum. Of course the closest I've come to paying full price for a
phone was when there was a pricing snafu at CC and I got my A400 for next to
nothing. My other phones have all been free or almost so.

In my case, it says "subscriber not found", even though the main website
knows me well. Perhaps it's because I'm a business plan customer.

Still, they should know better than "subscriber not found". They never miss
a chance to dissappoint.

It has nothing to do with how long you have been a customer, it has to
do with how long you had the phone. The check for any ESN swaps in the
last 18 months.

If you have replaced your phone for any reason, apparently kicks you out

You are right about the ESN swaps. It only deals with how long that
phone has been assigned to that phone number. It doesn't have anything
to do with how long you've had the phone. I plugged in the info for my
old 4700, which I purchased when the model was first released. I moved
that phone to my wife's phone number last year, and even though we've
owned the 4700 for a long time, it said the phone didn't qualify.
