Results 1 to 4 of 4

I currently have Sprint, 4 phones sharing 2000 minutes. 3 phones
are in area code 919(NC), one is in 404 (GA). But Sprint coverage
is bad at my daughters new college (UNC Chapel Hill) so I want to switch.
(Contract has expired, I'm on month to month.)
Cingular has towers on campus and gives the best coverage, but
they claim they can not let me share minutes with phones in NC and GA.
Does anyone have any creative idea on how to do this? I'd like to
port all 4 numbers.
Thanks
Fred

Are the numbers like you mention, 3 in NC and one in GA?
Typically it is difficult to do what you want to do, the people at the store
in NC for instance do not have access to the number pool in GA. However
since you want to port the numbers, it may be easier than that. I would
think that any store can port the numbers regardless of where you are.
They may have given you the correct answer with new phones and numbers and
they may tell you something different on a PORT

No, they can't port the numbers either. That's what we
tried, but thanks for the response.
Any other ideas?

Re: Need creative Cingular help
Fred,
1)You might try activating all four at home, then call and say
you need to change one phone to a GA #. If they say say no,
leave during your 2-week tryout period.
2)How about an 800# for the GA phone? Outbound calls will be
always LD-free, inbound would incur a per minute fee for you, but
not for callers. Then call the party back which will be LD-free.
3)How about just switching the GA phone to Cingular? The GA
phone can use Cingular on its own plan, you stay on Sprint. We
save money by having all phones but one on different plans, not
shared. May be a few $ more, but may be worth it. Won't work if
you want MtoM, but you didn't specify that. Unlimited
Night/Weekends could come into play for long calls.
