My lady friend is “paranoid that her ex partner is trying to intercept
her mobile calls and also trying to get her call details from the
    provider!
She has just located the site for which I have attached the link.
    http://tinyurl.com/5rofko

This site boasts that it can let the purchaser of the software listen
in to all the other person’s calls and also see their SMS messages.
My question is: Does this technology exist in the public domain, or is
the site a “scam” to get your credit card details?
Has anyone used this or similar software with success. If it does work,
do you have to be within Bluetooth range of the other phone constantly?

It depends on the phone and service provider. Yes it IS possible. Many a
stalker has done exactly what your lady friend is afraid of. However, she
can block access to her account and it is recommended by experts in the
field of personal safety to get a new phone in the type of situation you
are describing. Also, you can lock the bluetooth connections to only
equipment you specifically allow, blocking all other attempts to attach to
the phone. Software is not needed.
