Hello. I have tried calling someone but I get a strange alert tone and the message, "The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time. Please try your call again later".
I was told this happened because the user has a high cell phone bill that has yet to be paid.
When this occurs is all services on the phone stopped (calls and text messages) or just all calls? Would you still be able to use the text messaging feature? Would you be able to see incoming text messages but wouldn't be able to send them or would ALL text messages (incoming and outcoming) be stopped until the bill is paid?

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time
this could also be happening if the person has reported their phone lost or stolen....
either way tho, all of the services are completely suspended.

It either means their bill isn't paid, their phone is suspended as lost/stolen or they have blocked your number. Try calling from another phone to see if they've blocked you.

More than likely not when they block you to block a person you need police reports and documentation and a valid reason so if ure stalking someone than more than likely you are blocked but you would know cause the cops would be at your door

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time
I know this thread hasn't been replied to in a while, but my ATT phone has a feature where I can add numbers to my "Blocked" list, where they won't be able to contact me, and I blocked my friend just to mess around with him, and he somehow left me a voicemail. How is this possible? I have unblocked him sense, but I would still like to know how this happened.

That block you put on through your phone just blocks the number from activating the ringing on your phone, it does not block it through the ATT system.

It is a feature you have to purchase.

yeah you can suspend your phone at any time through your online account, call through the automated system and report it as lost or stolen or call and ask someone to do it, while its suspended it will give a recording that you're not accepting calls.

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time
I don't think that is something you want on your phone because it will make you look like an idiot because everyone will think you didn't pay your phone bill. All of my skanky friends have that as their message at least once a month, and trust me, it's not attractive.

Re: The person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time
Ok so i can't answer the question but felt it would be pointless to start a new topic when my concern falls under this category. This is my question so please help me out.
I have called my friend's phone on several different occasions because they were coming home soon from being deployed. At first it would ring endlessly until I would get the "the person you are trying to reach is not accepting calls right now."..ok so...out of pure curiosity that perhaps I have done something to upset them and they blocked me...i used two of my friends' phones with different numbers...and they got the exact same thing but no ringing.
Again my curiosity got the best of me...i called from my number unblocked because I have nothing to hide...goes straight to a busy tone?
Whats going on because he doesnt even know my friends and no im not a stalker...just a concerned best friend who might have left 2011 on bad terms with that individual unfortunately...trying to fix it. but they would have no reason to block my friends because they dont know them at all.
thank you in advance for the helpful replies.
