This is easy question to answer

First being your Virgin Mobile User like me.

Please note you can only download ringtones from

    Virgin Mobile Website which is
    Virgin Mobile USA Website

Second there no cables require. I download a ringtone with out having to plug any other cables besides just charge when it need to be.

Once your at the website enter your cell # and v-key

Click on Ringtone is on "right hand side"

You have click on buy beside the ringtone you want. It will take you another website to confirm. You will have make sure your in service you will recieve a text to download on the cell phone. It will download the ringtone within less than 5 minutes.

If you don't want to buy ringtones, you can buy a Slider se47 cable and download a copy of BitPim. www.cellphonehacks.com might help you out.

Yes it does. If your talking in the music caticory. When you click on music on Virgin Xtras it will take air time. I dunno how that is for the computer internet. Although having that on the internet is useless. But still. You will find it takes more minutes away then acually making any phone calls at all. I would recomend you not waste your money. It kills your minutes like theres no tomorrow.

Plus. I'm getting the new Verizon LG VX 7000. So my 8610 won't be of any use for long.

    Help!!! (AudioVox 8610)

Ok here is a web site that not only sells the data cable but also provides the software needed.
You can download ringtones, mix your own as well as wall papers to your phone.
The cost is about $28.00 which isnt to bad.
$2.50 a ringtone after awhile ads up.

    can't download MP3 ringtones

I found out the hard way that even the cr rom you can purchase (usb cable included) doesn't allow you to download MP3s from your computer to the audiovox 8610.

I made an MP3 of a portion of the Greatest American Hero theme song, but can't download it to my phone. It really bites.

Is there any way around this that I don't know of?

    Thanks!
    Keith

You'll need to use bitpim & hexeditor to download those ringtones to your phone. I heard that you can only put midi files to this phone & no mp3 tones. So, you'll need a program which you can edit the mp3's to a midi file.
