Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
I don't have this phone yet, but I am looking into getting it. I'm interested in what kind of hacks can be done with it. Looks like no one has come up with anything for it yet. But as the saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way. If I can get a PC connected to the phone, I should be able to do something with it.
lets see here. someone mentioned something about seem edits... have you checked the list of seem edits at hacktherazr.com (trying to work around the link restrictions while being helpful) /guides/verizon/seem-edit-list
note that these are currently only verified on the verizon razr v3m/v3c (and krazr i think). I take no responisibilty if attempting the seem edits messes up the phone, but you may want to give it a shot.
drivers.... I've checked the casio website and downloaded the pdf manual for the g'zOne boulder - it states that music can be transferred from the PC to the phone using the vcast w/rhapsody software. Not sure if this installation will include the drivers or not, and if it does I dont know if they will work for other applications. might want to check it out though. verizonwireless.com/music. The verizon website states that the phone is usable as a modem for DUN, so by all rights there should definitely be a standalone driver installation for it. Difficult part is in acquiring it for free.
anyone using linux here been able to connect to the phone with BitPim? You'll probably have to hook up using the "other cdma" setting.
If someone has managed a wired PC connection, take a look at the filesystem view and see if you can find the arcconfig.ini file on it. I'm going off of what the v3m/v3c and krazr firmwares look like and on those it is located at /brew/mod/arcmedia/arcconfig.ini
I'm interested if it is there and what it looks like. Also, is it possible to set a recorded sound as a ringer on that phone?
transferring pics to the phone... has anyone attempted to load a pic to the root of the transflash (micro sd) card and place the card back in the phone? This is easy method of transferring pics to the Razr and Krazr phones - however the implications may be different being that it is a totally different manufacturer.
but definitely get that arcconfig file off the phone if it exists as it should shed some light on things. I've been able to work a bit of magic with that file on the various firmwares of the razr and krazr phones.

Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
After using a Voyager for a few days I switched to the much more rugged G'zOne. Good phone except I frequently find it has inadvertently switched to "All Sounds Off" mode. Is there a hack or software to eliminate this feature? I need to be able to hear ring tones "24/7/365". A rigid case might also help, does anyone know of such a holster for this phone?
Thanks, Tom

Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
I found that uploading MP3 or wav files to my PixPlace acct and them sending them as Picture/Video Message worked great to get ringtones to the phone!
I tried to use BlueTooth to send from my old phone to the new G'Zone but could not figure out how to get that to work!

Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
I got the driver for the Boulder from Verizon. I installed it an the V cast software on my XP machine with no problem. I am having an issue with my Vista laptop. Both software items are available from Verizon. I'm not sure if you need to have a "my verizon" acct ot accessthe files.
My cell phone carrier Verizon sells one for 15 bucks.Last edited by bilcast; 08-11-2009 at 09:52 PM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post

Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
I know it's 2010 and there are newer versions of the Gzone, but I still have and use my Type V. I had the Data Pilot software, but there are no longer any updates for my phone. Does anybody have them?

I found the driver!! It is originally for an older phone but it works just fine with the Boulder. Here is the URL: ch-mobile.com/support/agree.html

Re: G'zOne TypeV software?
Thank you very much. I'll check out right now.
Would you happen to know how to manage you "Favorites" other than using your mobile phone? Is there a way to get to the mobile web from your desktop? I have hundreds of favorites I need to organize, and on the Casio, it takes forever.

VZAccess Manager
Find your phone and OS and there you go, I understand your pain, took me longer than I'd like to admit to find it.
Anyone able to direct as to where to go from here to view/print sms messages from a G'zOne Type V? I'm running Windows 7 and this was not enjoyable to eventually install, no drivers for Windows 7 for this phone. I now feel as though I have some slight experience, prior to this task, clueless compared to what I've learned through this blind discovery mission
