How else would it be done?

Mind you, with all the terms that people fling around the place I am not
even sure what any of them mean any more.

And 20 cents from a home phone if local, or ten cents flat rate anywhere
    if VOIP from home.

But if you're on the go and use a mobile a lot then you're either using it
for business or you have more money than sense.

    You keep changing the topic.

First you argued that "any mobile phone that can use VOIP be next to
useless on any Australian network where data charges are prohibitively
    expensive".

Then, after I showed you that the prices were NOT "prohibitively
expensive", you argued that it would be cheaper to use "normal telephony
services over a mobile" than to use VOIP.

Now, after being shown that it could be cheaper to use VOIP over mobile
than "normal telephony services over a mobile", you've started comparing
mobile-originated VOIP to normal telephony services on a home phone plus
    VOIP from a home phone.

You're being plain silly, and I'm not going to discuss things with you
further until you stop being silly.

(Incidentally, you forgot to factor in the monthly home phone line rental.)

    No I don't.

Maybe not for business users. But for the average non-business user they
are prohibitiviely expensive which leads us into the home use scenario.

And a valid comparison it is, if your main phone is a mobile, which I
assume a lot of people do these days.

    Go **** yourself, pretentious twat.

$20/mth Homeline Budget. Or naked DSL that ISPs are starting to offer. All
of these are a far better option than "VOIP over Mobile" particularly for
those who yak on their mobiles at home.

Like I said, some people have more money than sense when it comes to
mobile usage, most notably kids who live out of their phones and their
stupid parents who continue to pay their bills for them.

Roddles, can you explain to me how 3 is not shooting itself in the foot?

Data is cheaper than voice calls, if you have a data pack.

3 desperately need VOICE revenue to survive and become profitable

Likely more viable to try explaining it to a stone.

    > Data is cheaper than voice calls, if you have a data pack.

And **** all of their customers will bother to do their voice calls that way.

    > 3 desperately need VOICE revenue to survive and become profitable

They just need revenue, it doesnt have to be voice revenue, you stupid dunny cleaning ****wit child.
