Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I'm pretty well satisfied with my boost mobile phone. I get good reception and all that jazz. No problems in my experience.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I've been with Virgin for awhile and the phones aren't too bad, though I lose service pretty easily in certain areas of my city or if I goto my dads house(out in the boonies). Other than that they are okay except their customer service which seems to be lacking especially phone wise.
Cons: customer service, phone plans are kindof hard to follow and understand, reception seems to be average.
Pros: decent phones, though need more choices for pre-paid plans. cheap.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I also have been with Virgin for a while, and I really have no complaints. Normally, they have pretty cool phones and they suit my needs for the most part. I'm in college so i obviously want the newest/ trendiest phones for a low cost. The plans aren't super cheap, but they're manageable. Recently I read about some kind of plan that they came up with where they give a discount to low income people or the unemployed (im guessing in response to the recession). Im not too crazy about this. I wanna know why I'm not getting a discount for being a student. I barely make any money as it is, yet I'm not eligible? I wanna know if Virgin is becoming some kind of hand-out phone. Anyone else know about this or have any info? Thanks a lot guys. New to the forum btw.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
there's more to life than having a trendy phone. boost is cheaper than virgin... 50.00 unlimited for text, calls, walkie-talkie and web service, and it INCLUDES tax...
Total monthly price
Boost: $50.00
Virgin: $73.99
in regards to phones, Boost has some nice looking ones. what matters is functionality. if someone is judging you based on what kind of phone you have, you shouldn't be around that person anyway. that's extremely pig-headed and superficial. try making friends with brains.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
It seems that recently the prepaid market has been heated and that is reasonable considering the economy. TracFone came out with an unlimited plan for 45 and Virgin has one for 50. The one problem i have with virgin is they dont seem to value the customers they have. They are talking about a low-income plan, 120 minutes for 10 bucks but its only available to select group. And have been with them for awhile i feel neglected and angered that i am not getting a break.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I have Virgin Mobile and it works good in my area in CT. and NY but not in Pa which I travel too a lot. Boost in this area I do not have but friends do and they do not like it...I guess it all depends on where you are.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I'm in Alexandria, VA and DC areas and like to travel a bit down to Stafford, out to Warrenton and up to MD and sometime NYC what's the coverage like on the drive? I'd hate to have my car break down and not be able to call AAA.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
Hi there!
We realize how important coverage is and with such a wide area of travel, we can't specifically say Virgin Mobile coverage will be perfect in all of those areas. However, we offer coverage checks right on the Virgin Mobile website, so you can check your coverage areas before you choose us. When you get to virginmobileusa.com, just click on the word "Coverage" at the top of the page.
If it looks like we've got good coverage in these areas, then you might want to check out our phones (we just launched the Rumor 2) and our calling plans.
Thanks, and good luck with your research!

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
LOL are you serious...Boost HAS only 2 Features that is worth a crap and that is CHIRP and the fact that if you get rained on your phone won't black out until it dries....water proof phones is great but you can get that from nextel phones ....I NEVER have Signal... NO phone customization....NO phone access software NO ringtones or Wallpapers Unless you purchas them. OVeR all I rank there Service ( a -10 )
Virgin Mobile is okay at least there is work arounds the phones are a little better and signals are a little bit better but not much. ( 1 )
Trakphone ..i have had Untouchable signal i even had it inside the metal roof building at work and it still picked up 2 bars. none of the others did. only draw back is ....all you can do is talk on the phone IT DOES NOTHING ELSE.
Over all
Best signals ...Trakphone
Best Features....Virgin Mobile
Best Phone for DOggie Chew Toy ....Boost cookie bar phones...they love them.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
Never used Virgin Mobile, but I have used Tracfone and I just switched to Boost.
Boost wins, hands down, if up against Tracfone. Jeez. You don't even want to know the nightmare I had trying to get Tracfone to release my old number for porting. Boost has better customer service - they tried hard to get my old number ported even through all the issues which were on Tracfone's end. Tracfone basically gave up and said "not our problem sorry" but eventually I got the number ported.
Anyway, Boost is 10 cents a minute and $10 buys 100 minutes. Tracfone charges $20 for 60 minutes. That's why I switched. The service itself is alright, I mean, the reason I got prepaid was because I don't use my cellphone that much, so I can't comment on much besides that.
Drawback of Boost: expensive phones! Holy crap. Ended up buying an ancient brick of a cell phone for cheap (but hey, it works, I like it, and I can finally have my own ringtones and wallpapers. Woot).

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
LOL it is so fun to see the loyal people to each provider in prepaid....and how they defend that they have the best service....I believe it boils down to what and how you need to use a phone...Tracfone is going to be the best in service in USA period. Meaning that IF there is any coverage in towers you will have service. Now I am not saying that the others don't provide great service and don't get them... I just say for a consistant signal around the USA tracfone is the bomb...Now the newest company straight talk is a brother to tracfone and for $45.00 a month you have unlimited talk, text and web....I for one would never go back to a prepaid phone, but the freedom of choice to have no contract, and change phones often, are just a couple of good reasons to have a prepaid phone. Consider all the options that you have before you, is my motto. Also another thing to keep in mind... You get what you pay for, I have seen the phones not last very long... Good luck in choosing the prepaid phone and service.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
I have a trac phone and a boost phone. I never tried Virgin, but between the two i have used it would have to be boost, hands down.
I heard that Metro PCS offered the same services as boost for only $30 instead of Boosts $50. I'm just not sure about being in NH.

Re: Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Tracfone?
There is a new one that I have Not checked out yet. it is offered from walmart call straight talk. for unlimited stuff for anywhere from 30.00 on up. Also here we have Pocket Wireless too, but as I see it the coverage in my area (CT) is lousy, does anyone know about these or used them yet...
