if you can use paintshop than you can use photoshop.
Personally, it wasn't that hard to learn photoshop, after you play with it for a while and check out a few web sites, it gets pretty simple. You really don't have to worry about the real complicated stuff unless your doing sophisticated graphic design.

you're right about photoshop being feature rich but i guess you get what you pay for. it may seem complicated and overwhelming with all the menus and options. it didn't take me long to get the hang of it. there's plenty of website that have tutorials and how-to's for photoshop. i know photoshop version 6 and 7 are much user-friendly than 5 was.

i agree. just like sakaze suggested, try the online tutorials (they helped me out alot) or even the built-in tutorial (for the basics)

Try COREL or Macromedia. They make good software.

Photoshop CS adds a few new features but If you have photoshop 7 (or even 6) then don't bother upgrading (unless you can upgrade for free, legally )

    -GB

Paintshop pro and Photoshop is what I use mostly. I use Photoshop mostly but paintshop is easier when doing other things.

Absolutely no point using CS over version 7. To be honest, the only difference I noticed was the logo, even though CS takes up over 100MB more than v7

I probably missed loads of stuff, but I don't need any more features than v7 has anyway.
