5MM would probably work. It all depends on your mouse.

Depends on the fitting inside your mouse (That holds the LED)... it's different with some mouses.

i know this one kid who did that same thing to his mouse, he actually stole the mouse from school, and modded it, then brought it back and showed everyone. he showed a teacher that said it wasn't possible that he was wrong... then he sold it for $10

You probably don't want to waste your time with a tri color LED. They are usually not as bright as a single color, and you would have to solder 3 different anodes to the board in the mouse. If the solder point is really small, then that could prove a difficult task. Besides, when you light all 3 colors simultaneously, the result isn't really all that amazing. I, personally would go with a super bright white or blue. Those two are generally the easiest colors to find a high mcd value.

3D manipulator (3D mouse) is a control device connected to a computer and used for three-dimensional positioning of the cursor and manipulating objects in virtual space with six degrees of freedom. I recently chose SolidWorks and I want to say that this is a new experience and pleasant sensations I want to learn to work with it. With the help of a 3D manipulator, you can control the movement of objects in space.
