Ok is it just me, but after a while of using Windows XP after I go to start, turn off computer, restart, before it actually restarts I get an "end program" error and once I click "end now" it restarts, but it's annoying to get that every time. I never used to.

It must happen because Windows doesn't want to shut down without shutting down the program. In the theory, it can be damagin to the computer, so it wants to force the program to shut it self down in the way it is supposed to. It will some times take some time.

My computer does that, too...let me know if you find out the reason for it. it takes forever to shut it down or restart now because of that end program deal.

Do you remember the last time you didn't have this problem? If you do, try doing a system restore

system restore would be great. and try to remember the last application you installed before all of this happened. then try uninstalling it. and check if some unusual program is listed in your startup. also check the registry for some unusual apps hkeycurrentuser>software>microsoft>windows>currentver>
