Score Editing
You can use Finale2003. Which is a score editor just like Sibelius.
It's much simpler to use.
You can download it from an application called Kazaa Media Desktop.
You can get this from www.download.com under the MP3 and Audio Link

Sibelisu is a nice program, more suited for "publishing" your score. If you just want to record your midi file, there are much simpler progs around.

I use noteworthy composer, which I found to be perfectly acceptable.(go to www.noteworthycomposer.com) - I found Sibelius to be too complex and expensive.

I use Finale 2003. I use it to write out songs for marching band stand music. I only use it cuz my band director recommended it. Its real easy to use and I got it off Kazaa.
