    I currently have a sony vaio with an amd athlon processor, im currently hating it. I am going to get a compaq presario soon though

    Better yet, get one custom built. I never look at brand names; only hardware specifications and reliability. It is cheaper to get one custom built, because you are not paying for licenses to program bundles you may never use.

    Or even better, build it yourself. Then you know exactly what you're getting, and have the pleasure of flicking the switch and knowing it's your baby. 'Course, then when things go south, it's up to you to fix them! Which is easier because you know exactly what you've got!

    My dad and I built our 3 [we also have a laptop] 1 has Win98, 1 Win2000, 1 WinXP/Linux [laptop has Win95]. All have 2 cdrom drives in each computer either a Liteon or Acer all can copy/cdr/cdrw/dvd pretty much everything. 1 has 8GB 1 40GB 1 80GB all have internet and are networked. Each computer has a mic, we have 3 printers, 1 scanner, 2 digital cameras. Here are some pics...
