    Maxtor?
    Hitachi?
    Seagate?

    I always trust WD.

I don't really think there is that much to choose between any of them. Over the years, I've had drives from all these manufacturers and others. I've had a couple of bad experiences, but nothing which would say to me 'never buy from them again'.

Seagate, can't fault them. I run them in everything from full RAID servers to workstations

I've got a Western Digital HDD the best model of th 120 GB models(8MB Cache - UDMA 133 - 7200 rpm and so on) works really good
PLUS You get a 3 YEAR Guarantee
most of them listed give you only 1 or 2 Years and this HDD kepps itself cool so you don't need to have a cooler

    P.S. Although it's so fast it's quiet

Seagate is good, Maxtor has been good for me too. I had a bad IBM once though that I hear lots of others had problems with too, I will never try them again.

I'd have to go with WD.

They are really on top of the game right now.

Nothing beats a 72GB Raptor in Price/Preformance/Ease of Use ratio.

    IDE - seagate barracuda
    SCSI - seagate cheetah

had too many problems with samsung, hitachi and maxtor. western digital is good but over-priced sometimes (at least where i'm at).
