About a week ago, Apple has lifted the veil on the new iPhone line-up, consisting of course in the aluminum iPhone 5s flagship, and the plastic-built iPhone 5c. More to the point, some months back, Apple has also announced that both devices will run on iOS 7; the new Apple mobile OS that has been in Beta for a few months. The good news however, is that even if you don't plan on buying a new iPhone, you can still enjoy the new platform. When? Well, if you haven't heard already, today is the day when Apple is pulling iOS 7 out of Beta and launches it to the masses. Check out the details below.

iOS 7 Rolling Out Today!

Indeed, for those of you who happen to own an iPhone 4 and up, an iPad 2 and up or the iPd Touch (5th gen), iOS 7 is going to be released today all over the world. The rollout times are as follow:

  • US Pacific – 10 AM
  • US Mountain – 11 AM
  • US Central – 12 PM
  • US Eastern 1 PM
  • Europe GMT – 5 PM
  • Europe Britisn 6 PM
  • Central Europe – 7 PM
  • Eastern Europe – 8 PM
  • Asia - Hong Kong and China– 1 AM September 19
  • Asia – Korea and Japan – 2 AM September 19

All that being said, make sure you keep your Apple gadget ready for an update, and don't hesitate to drop us a line as soon as you're able to pull the new OS from the servers. Meanwhile, below you will find a quick recap on what features you can expect from the new release

iOS 7 Preview – Top Features

Assuming that you haven't been too interested in the Beta program and you're also unaware of what the new features of iOS 7 are, then here's a list of the top new features and changes that you can expect.

  • Design: iOS 7 has been completely redesigned in order to deliver a crisper and more modern look. The list of changes includes brand new icons as well as fonts. Everything feels more up to date and I'm fairly sure that Apple fans will enjoy the new look of the OS.
  • Control Center: Yep, Apple's iOS finally has a thing called the "control center", which is a quick menu that contains toggles for all sorts of functions, including but not limited to brightness sliders, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi as well as flashlight toggles.
  • Multitasking: While multitasking has existed on iOS before, it's not what we'd normally call "real multitasking". Fortunately, this feature has been completely revamped and the system now supports real multitasking for all of the applications (much like on Android). The OS is also able to update the apps in the background, without affecting battery life.
  • Siri: the awesome Siri has been updated on iOS 7 and now features a new user interface and the ability to choose between multiple voices – female or male as well. The supported languages are English, French and German, with more languages expected to be added over time.
  • Safari: Unsurprisingly, Apple's Internet browser has been redesigned as well. The new UI now features a new flip card-tab overview system (similar to Google Chrome), and the browser itself is now improved for full-screen browsing. The search bar has also been removed, and users are now able to perform searches directly from the address bar.

These are just a few features that are present on iOS 7. The list goes on with AirDrop, new Camera and Photos apps, updates to iOS in-car functionality, updates to iTunes Radio as well as a handful of new features in the App Store.

Is anyone excited about iOS 7?
