There have been many rumors lately, regarding's Nokia's past and future plans. Some of these rumors and leaks indicate that, before being recently acquired by Microsoft, the Finnish mobile manufacturer was working on Android-powered devices. That however is a thing of the past, and with Microsoft having a say in the matter, chances are that we'll not see Nokia Androids anytime soon (or ever).

The good news however, is that Nokia will continue to deliver new Windows Phone-powered devices, and the next big release might actually be a phablet.

With a rising number of oversized smartphones being announced lately, it's only a matter of time before other platforms (operating systems) aside from Android will adopt this concept. So what would you say if Nokia would become the manufacturer to deliver the very first Windows Phone phablet ever created?

Well, rumor has it that Nokia is working on a Lumia device dubbed the "1520". This handset allegedly features a 6 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The photo you see above has been recently leaked, and it allegedly depicts this mysterious Nokia Lumia 1520.

As far as availability goes, we're evidently not certain as to when the handset will hit the market. Nonetheless, word on the street is that the device might be unveiled on an event that will take place on September 26th – the same day on which Microsoft is also expected to reveal its new Surface tablet line-up. Following the aforementioned announcement, the Nokia Lumia 1520 will then supposedly go on sale sometime in October. Some sources speculate that the big day would be the 22nd day of October. We'll evidently have to wait and see how the story develops.

Would anyone be interested in buying a Nokia phablet? What would you expect from such a device?
