When Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 during the IFA event, the Korean manufacturer has announced that the new TouchWiz user interface and the Android 4.3 update will land on various other Samsung smartphones sometime by the end of the year. Lately, courtesy of various leaks, we've found out that the Samsung Galaxy S3, the SGS4, the Note 2 as well as the Mega series might all receive Android 4.3 sometime within the next three months or so.

Even more recently, a pre-release build of Android 4.3 for the unlocked European Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-i9509) has been recently leaked, giving us a clear indicator that Samsung is indeed working really hard on launching the new update on the flagship device.

Those who have managed to give this pre-release build a try have reported that the device is faster than when it ran Android 4.2.2, and it's also lag free. Various other improvements and additions have been reported on, including various changes to the TouchWiz UI and sharper text. The list of pre-loaded applications includes the secure business app "Samsung Knox", and Samsung Wallet is on-board as well. More so, the update appears to include a new on-screen QWERTY keyboard, and a new reading mode that is compatible with a handful of applications. Last but not least, color reproduction is allegedly better with Android 4.3 on-board, than it is with Android 4.2.2. Android 4.3 is also supposed to make the SGS4 compatible with the recently announced Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which at this point is only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

As for the official release, there is no exact launch date in sight, but various leaks have suggested that Samsung intends on releasing Android 4.3 on the Galaxy S4 sometime near the end of October, or by the end of November 2013. We'll have to wait and see how the story develops, but meanwhile, feel free to check out the video below, showing off the leaked Android 4.3 pre-released build on the Galaxy S4 (courtesy of Sam Mobile).
