Sony Xperia Ion may be launching in Taiwan

The officially announced AT&T Sony Xperia ion, which should launch in May or June this year, may also become available in Taiwan.

Sony is expected to announce the Sony Xperia Ion for Taiwan on April 26, which is today. What is strange about this news, is that Sony once reported (as you can see in the video), that the Sony Xperia Ion would be exclusive to the US only.

If the Sony Xperia Ion does indeed hit Taiwan, it will more than likely have to use the GSM/HSPA capabilities as Taiwan does not currently have any LTE networks.

Features of the Sony Xperia Ion include: a 4.55 inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera, 16GB of internal memory, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradeable to 4.0 ICS.
