For the sake of all the US GSM users, what are some good prepay providers in Europe that would allow us to use our unlocked phones with their prepay SIM cards?

Who better to answer that question than Europeans CPF members?

    Thanks all!!

    Good thread idea Nickel5...

here is what a buddy uses when he's in Europe for Boeing...
    http://www.cellularabroad.com/italyppsc.html

This company was suggested to a friend, from c-workers living in Italy.
He likes it because it has free incoming calls, which helps when people need to get in touch with him. They also carry recharageable international SIM cards as well.

alright, there's one recommendation! let's keep them coming. the more options, the merrier!!

you know, i'm feeling generous today! 500 CPF$ for posting a european prepay company, 1000 CPF$ for posting a direct link to the purchasing info on their website.

well, that's more of a 3rd party SIM distributor than a european prepay cell provider. for instance, you're paying $38 for $7 worth of airtime in Mexico. i was looking more for providers where $10 equals $10.

at any rate, i owe you some cpf$!!

500.00 CPF $ donated to taslo successfully!

Yeah, after farther taking to my Dad. He said that he has two phones. One for Cingular here and one for international calling. I was going to revise that. thanks for doing it for me.

Thanks n1ckel5 for the CPF anyway.

T-Mobile is a German company, and is well-established in many parts of Europe. Here is the link to T-Mobile's International site map, and from there you can browse T-Mobile service in all countries they service. If you cannot find a particular site in English, I use babelfish.altavista.com to translate foreign pages into a somewhat intelligible dialect of English.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: Prepay European SIM Cards?

    hi

i live in UK, I generally get the SIM cards from all the service providers, these SIMs are Pay As U Go, this are Internation Roaming ones, so can be used anywhere in the world, I would prefer O2 service for cheaper rates. If anyone from CPF needs such cards please let me know & I would do the best to send them.

You just need to look for some offers on the site -

I would just give the link for that site if it helps.
    O2

As said, if anybody needs any of such SIM like O2, vodafone, T-mobile, Virgin etc pls let me know, because this SIMs are mainly for local purpose so if u have that SIM instead of Internaltion roaming SIM the charges are also cheap then that.

    Hi!
The main question is: Where do you wanna go to? Germany has different prepaid provider than the United Kingdom or France. In Germany you have got 4 different prepaid cards provider: eplus and o² and t-mobile, vodafone.

    Re: Prepay European SIM Cards?

    Pretty much all of them.
Buy them in the country you are staying in. You don't need permission, or anything just buy the best value pre-paid SIM. If you are bringing a phone from the US, it must be one that works on European frequencies, that is: 900-1800 GSM. Most US GSM phones are 850-1900 and won't work in Europe. You will need a tri or quad band, or buy your phone here.

I have been able to purchase two different Sim cards here in Italy one from TIM and the other from Vodafone both pay as you go. The cards are about 35 Euro each.

    Re: Prepay European SIM Cards?

European network provider sim cards are not only expensive but also hard to get, provide terrible customer service and poor coverage. and on top everything roaming charges are inflated and unreasonable. so my suggestion would be if your are just visiting Europe it is better to get international call provider sim cards.
