hey guys question. Can I use a infrared usb device for a pda or laptop for my nokia 7210. I a little leary of buying one online cause it might not work. I live in the USA and am wondering can i just go to a radioshack or electronic store.

i bought an infra red usb beam for my pc, works well with my 6610, but phone manager and some other functions on PC suite won't work...

I bought an aftermarket cheapo off ebay.. and it works great with my t68i. Never had any problems. The only thing I've had problmes with was with my windows 98 ..cause it didn't ahve the infrared drivers... BUt i changed to win2000 and all's been well since

My IrDA device (USB) works fine with XP.
It only doesnt work with windows Longhorn pre alpha release.

and are you using pc suite?

it works fine with IrDA.
first, I had a datacable, but that ain't working, if its not an original nokia cable.

my phone manager doesn't function, it doesn't recognise my phone....
save that feature, everything else is dandy... [just annoys me that's all ]

why not just buy a USB cable? really need IR?
