was in japan like a month ago and now they have these radical phones that let u watch tv. thing is, they are japan only or else u can only buy them on contract, so basically japan only. anyone else seen or heard of these phones?

Nope,... haven't unfortunately,... but what i do know is that japenese phone screens have lots of colours (compared to our 65k and even 260K colour tft screens) and can easily have megapixel cameras up to 2MP or even more! In which is impossible for any of us to have any time soon... (Until the 2MP SE phone comes out)

I heard that in some of the Scandanavian countries the phones w/ television have come out as well.

Even if you owned a phone from japan, you couldnt use it here in the us,
They use WCDMA and have no GSM there. But you can buy a Jap handset with WCDMA/GSM(1900) and use it in the US but you cant use any of the features that is special to Jap, (I-mode, TV, Video Confressing ect)

Some phones can work in the us and Japan,
but have to be unlocked and be WCDMA and GSM 1900.

But Vodafone/Docomo/Au Kddi/Tu-Ka dont release unlocked phones.
You can get a Japanese docomo rental at the 2 international airports kansai and narita.

I have txo phone from Asia:a Tcl and a Asus J101...They works fine for me...

well the Asus J101 and the Tcl are chinese models and it uses GSM.
Different from Japan.
