Heard a report this evening about a company that places GPS tracking in cell phones so parents can track their kids whereabouts and (since the company provides this information) make sure the kids are not within a certain distance of where known sexual predators live.

Supposedly, this technology is coming out this summer and several phone companies have decided to provide cellulars with this capability.

I just wanted to know if anyone here has heard of this, and if so, could you provide a little background/ guidance/ insight. Who, where, how much, etc. . .

Thanks PrimeWoman! Seems that report (which was on television) was a little behind, because apparently, this technology has already been out for a while.

You are welcome. No big surprise is it? Most news, unless it is a breaking sensational story, is indeed, old news (gotta love that oxymoron). OK, so it was news to you. To be honest, I had only stumbled upon that info earlier the same day while googling something else. Gotta love the history feature in the toolbar. Smiles.
