The ZTE Max has been recently launched via Boost Mobile, and if you've picked this phone up coming from an iPhone, chances are that you're looking for ways and means to share your contacts with the Max. Look no further, as you'll find 4 easy methods below. Pick whichever is more useful to you.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes allows you to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, making it easier to get those contacts on your Android device. For this guide you need a computer with iTunes installed.

  1. Launch iTunes on your PC
  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to your computer
  3. Once your iPhone appears in iTunes, click on it to view the summary page
  4. Click the "Info" tab and check the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, choose "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account's login credentials if you haven't done so before. Alternatively, click "Configure" and select a Google account that you've added previously
  7. Click "Apply" and allow iTunes to sync your iPhone contacts
  8. Switch over to the ZTE Max and register the same Google account, if necessary. To add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Allow the account to sync contacts with your Max

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

iCloud is a backup service that you might've already used on your iPhone. If you did, then your contacts might already be backed up. You can transfer them to your Android device by doing the following:

  1. Use your computer's Internet browser to visit www.icloud.com
  2. Log in with your iCloud account
  3. Go to "Contacts" and select the ones that you want to share
  4. Click the button shaped like a cog wheel (located in the bottom-left) and select "Export vCard"
  5. A VCF file containing the selected contacts will now be downloaded on your computer
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, connect your ZTE Max to your computer via USB, and copy the file in your phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, open "People" app, tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card" > select the target account, choose the vCard file and tap "OK"

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application:

If you don't have access to a computer, you can still share your iPhone contacts with the help of applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that allows you to share contacts with your Android device via email.

  1. Use your iPhone to visit the App Store, and download "My Contacts Backup"
  2. Launch the application and tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file containing your iPhone contacts
  3. Tap "Email" to create a new email with the VCF file attached to it
  4. Enter your own Gmail address as the recipient, and send the email
  5. On your ZTE Max, open the email and download the VCF file in order to import the contacts to your phone, via the "People" app

Using the "Bump" Application:

Last but not least, there's the iOS and Android "Bump" application, allowing you to share contacts without the need of a computer. The transfer is done via cloud, so you'll need an active Internet connection on both smartphones.

  1. Install "Bump" on both smartphones, from the App Store and Google Play Store respectively
  2. Open the application on both devices. If prompted, allow permissions
  3. Pick up the iPhone and swipe to the contacts section
  4. In the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to share
  5. After the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can lightly bump your smartphones together
  6. If done correctly, a "Connect" button will appear on both devices. Tap it and your iPhone contacts will be shared with your ZTE Max
