Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Swipe to and tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device" tap "Battery"
  4. Tap the switch associated with "Standby intelligent power saving" and set it to "ON"

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Display" > "Brightness"
  3. Drag the brightness slider to the left and set a lower option
  4. Tap "Sleep" and select a lower timeout value

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS:

NOTE: To maximize your phone's battery performance it's recommended that you disable connectivity features whenever they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot.

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap the switches next to "Bluetooth" and "Wi-Fi" and set them to "OFF"
  4. To disable GPS, return to "Settings" and tap "Location"
  5. Tap the "Location" slider to "OFF"

Reduce Sync Frequency:

NOTE: you can increase battery life on the long run if you reduce the amount of data being synced by your applications / accounts.

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and select an account
  3. Tap your account at the top of the screen
  4. Clear or check the boxes in the "Sync" menu to customize what data is being synced

Turn off Background Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Data usage" and press "Menu"
  4. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: some third party applications can affect your phone's battery life even when you don't use them. This is because they can run frequent processes in the background. As such it's recommended to disable or uninstall rarely, or never-used 3rd party apps:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home scree
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Apps" and select the application you want to edit
  4. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app
  5. To completely remove the app, tap "Uninstall"

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Open the Apps drawer and tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "More" > "Mobile networks"
  3. Tap "Network operators"
  4. Tap "Select manually" > "OK"
  5. Select a 2G option

Keep Your Phone Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can sometimes include fixes or improvements to battery life so you should keep your phone's software updated at all times. To check if a new update is available for your device:

  1. Tap "Apps" and go to "Settings"
  2. Tap "About phone"
  3. Tap "System updates" > "Check now"
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
