Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” and turn “Battery Saver” on

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap “All apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Display”
  4. Tap “Brightness level”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
  6. From the “Display” menu, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Swipe the “notification” bar down
  2. Tap the tiles associated with “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” (GPS) to disable these features
  3. For more options on how GPS words, access “Settings” > “Location”
  4. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Hotspot, go to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
  6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the feature

Minimize the Usage of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery performance even when they are not in use – assuming that the apps run regular background processes. As such you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
  3. Go to the “Downloaded” tab
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Force stop”
  5. To completely remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Change App Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  4. Choose an account type and clear the boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Choose “2G”
