WARNING! When you factory reset a phone, all of your personal data stored on the devices internal memory will be deleted, including contacts, apps, ringtones, media files, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: Before you master reset your phone, you can visit this thread for a detailed guide on how you can back up and restore data on the Alcatel Pop 3 (5).
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Backup & reset > Factory data reset
- At the Warning pop-up, tap Reset phone
- Assuming that your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter the necessary password / PIN etc.
- Tap Continue > Erase Everything
- Wait for your phone to reboot
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone using the method above, you can try resetting it by performing a combination of button presses instead.
- First, turn off the device
- Next, press and hold Volume Up
- Press and release Power
- Once you gain access to a menu with blue lines of text, release all hardware keys
- Use Volume down to navigate the menu and highlight wipe data / factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Use Volume Down to highlight Yes delete all user data
- Press Power
- Wait for the phone to finish resetting
- Once done, reboot system now should be highlighted
- Press Power and wait for the device to reboot
Check for OS Updates:
NOTE: After a fresh factory reset, its recommended to check if newer software updates are available for download. To do this:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to System and tap About phone
- Tap System update
- In case an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to install it on your device
