WARNING! When you factory reset a phone, all of your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted, including contacts, apps, ringtones, media files, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Before you master reset your phone, you can visit this thread for a detailed guide on how you can back up and restore data on the Alcatel Pop 3 (5).

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “Factory data reset”
  4. At the Warning pop-up, tap “Reset phone”
  5. Assuming that your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter the necessary password / PIN etc.
  6. Tap “Continue” > “Erase Everything”
  7. Wait for your phone to reboot

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone using the method above, you can try resetting it by performing a combination of button presses instead.

  1. First, turn off the device
  2. Next, press and hold “Volume Up”
  3. Press and release “Power”
  4. Once you gain access to a menu with blue lines of text, release all hardware keys
  5. Use “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “wipe data / factory reset”
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. Use “Volume Down” to highlight “Yes – delete all user data”
  8. Press “Power”
  9. Wait for the phone to finish resetting
  10. Once done, “reboot system now” should be highlighted
  11. Press “Power” and wait for the device to reboot

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset, it’s recommended to check if newer software updates are available for download. To do this:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “About phone”
  4. Tap “System update”
  5. In case an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to install it on your device
