Transfer Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Afterwards you can sign in with the same Google account on the Lava device, and sync the contacts with your Android phone.
- Connect the iPhone to the PC using the Lightning connector
- Launch iTunes on the PC
- In iTunes, click the iPhone and access the Info tab
- Turn on Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Log in with your Google account or, alternatively, click Configure and select an existing account if available
- Click Apply to start the sync
- When the sync is complete, switch to the Lava Iris and register the same Google account
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android phone
Transfer Contacts from an iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access it on a computer with an active Internet connection and export the contacts in vCard format to use on the Lava Iris.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your account
- Click Contacts and select the contacts you want to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- After the vCard is downloaded on the PC, you can import it using Google Contacts or:
- Alternatively connect the Lava Iris Atom 3 to your PC and copy the vCard file to the phone storage. Once done, import the files contents using Contacts
Via My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: The methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection, but alternatively, you can also transfer contacts using third party apps instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and transfer contacts via email.
- Visit the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on your iPhone
- Open the app and tap Backup
- After the backup is done, tap Email
- Compose a new email containing the vCard backup file as an attachment
- Send the email to your own address
- Switch to the Lava Iris Atom 3 and download the email attachment
- Open Contacts and use the Import option to add the vCard to your phonebook
Via Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use to transfer contacts without requiring a computer. The app (available on iOS and Android) uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files.
- Visit the Google Play Store and install Send Anywhere on the Lava Iris Atom 3
- Install the same app on the iPhone via the App Store
- Launch the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Select the desired contacts and tap Send again
- Lastly, choose a transfer method, such as Receive on the Lava Iris Atom 3, or Generate QR Code on the iPhone
