WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all of your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes apps, downloaded content, media files, ringtones, contacts etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values. Data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before resetting the phone, you can visit this thread for instructions on backing up data, and this thread for instructions on restoring data on the Pop Up.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access the “Settings” menu
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset” > “Factory data reset”
  4. Tap “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”
  5. Wait for the phone to reboot and complete the reset

Factory Reset via Recovery (Using Hardware Keys):

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone via Settings, you can try resetting it from the recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of hardware button presses.

  1. First, turn off the phone
  2. Next, press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” at the same time
  3. At the “Alcatel” startup screen, release “Power”
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release “Volume Up” too
  5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down / up” repeatedly to highlight “Wipe data / factory reset”
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Yes – delete all user data”
  8. Press “Power”
  9. When “Reboot system now” appears highlighted, press “Power” one last time to restart the device

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After resetting the phone, it’s recommended to check if new software updates are available for download.

  1. Open the apps drawer and access “Settings”
  2. Tap “About phone”
  3. Check if a new update is available, and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s)
