Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your applications doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal information stored within the app will be lost, including login and credit card information, profiles, high scores, saved games etc. To avoid losing data, try clearing only the apps cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Tap Apps and swipe to All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK
Clear Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, doesnt work as intended or runs out of storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the phones cache partition.
- First, turn off the phone
- With the device powered off, press and hold Volume Up and Power at the same time
- At the Alcatel startup screen, release Power
- Once you gain access to the Android system recovery screen, release Volume Up as well
- From the Recovery menu, press Volume down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Once the cache is wiped, Reboot system now should be highlighted
- Press Power to confirm and restart your phone
NOTE: If clearing the phones cache didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the phone instead.
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If one of your third party apps causes problems on your phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, all third party applications are turned off.
- On the home screen, press and hold Power
- From the pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to Reboot to safe mode, tap OK to confirm
- Once the phone restarts, a Safe mode label should be visible in the lower-left area of the home screen
- To remove an app, open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Tap Apps and swipe to All
- Select the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK
