Share iPhone Contacts via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account and then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Android device.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
- Open iTunes on the computer
- Access Info
- Enable Sync Contacts With and select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Log in with your Google account or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to begin the sync
- Once the sync is done, switch to the Android device and if necessary, sign in with the same account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your Android phone
Share iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account and go to Contacts
- Select the contacts you want to share
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- Once the vCard has been downloaded:
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google Contacts or:
- Connect the Android device to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import it to your phonebook via Contacts
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Visit the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Open the app and tap Backup to create a vCard of your iPhone contacts
- Once the vCard is created, tap Email
- Write a new email ensuring the vCard is attached
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- Switch to the Android device and open the email
- Download the vCard attachment and import it to your phonebook using Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for sharing your iPhone contacts. The application uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.
- Go to the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Install the same app on the Android device via the Play Store
- Open the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Choose a transfer method on one of the phones and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
