Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow settings, app data, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
  4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: You can restore contacts by syncing them with the phone the next time you log in with the backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
