Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow settings, app data, and passwords to be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Contacts
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact backup
- Tick the Contacts check box
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you log in with the backup account by syncing them with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer storage
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) of origin or the Media directory
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
