Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing
  4. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data –and contacts- with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / ‘Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. After the transfer ends, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) of origin
  6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device
