Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  3. Access “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Device”
  5. Tap “Display”
  6. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  7. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to avoid potentially unnecessary network scans and conserve battery life:

  1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
  2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable these features
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Access “Location”
  5. Tap “mode”
  6. Enable “Battery saving”
  7. To turn off Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  8. Go to “Tethering & portable hotspot”
  9. Turn the features off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can temporarily switch to 2G networks until the next recharge to conserve energy.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the desired settings to reduce sync

Minimize Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life when not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps from the device to improve battery life.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and make sure to view “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force Stop”
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Verify if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to install and download the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
