Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. For more options go to “Settings”
  4. Access “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. For more options, go to “Settings”
  4. For GPS options, access “Location”
  5. Tap “mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  7. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and turn the feature Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps can perform background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the phone, you may improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps”
  3. Ensure “All apps” is selected
  4. Tap the desired app
  5. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Reduce Account Sync:

NOTE: You may be able to improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts”
  4. Select an account type and an account
  5. Change the available options to change sync settings as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll down to and tap “About phone”
  3. Go to “System updates”
  4. Verify if new updates are available and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process. Note that the update process will require at least one reboot
