Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type
- Select the desired account for syncing
- Make sure the Contacts tick box is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media backup files on the PC
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
