Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desire account and ensure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. ON the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files form a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
