Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout options tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Return to “Settings” and go to “Location”
  4. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings”
  6. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks” and disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and select “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life by minimizing the amount of data synced by your apps/accounts.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes which can affect battery life. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the phone you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps”
  3. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
  5. Tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available and if there are, follow the prompts to download and apply them
